The platform

Legal and privacy

Lektify's legal pages and the choices everyone gets about their data. A trust builder for creators and readers alike.

Legal pagesNew

Legal notice (BENYWEB STUDIO), Terms of Sale, privacy policy, refund policy and affiliate program terms, all translated (the French version prevails). The legal notice, Terms of Sale and refund policy name the consumer mediator: CM2C, which you can contact online if there's a dispute.

Where: Footer › "Legal"
  1. Scroll to the bottom of any public page.
  2. Under "Legal", click "Legal notice", "Terms of Sale", "Privacy" or "Refunds".
  3. The affiliate terms are in the links at the bottom of the legal pages ("Affiliate").
  4. For a translation, change the language with the globe.

Cookie bannerNew

Only essential cookies are on by default. Three extra options are up to you: "External media" (YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion videos), "Referral" and "Creator links". You can change your choice anytime.

Where: First visit › "A cookie?"; footer › "Manage my cookies"
  1. On your first visit, choose "Accept all", "Reject all" or "Customize".
  2. With "Customize", turn each option on or off.
  3. Click "Save my choices".
  4. To change it later, click "Manage my cookies".

Payment consent

Before you pay for a Lekty'Book or a token top-up, the "Confirm your order" window asks you to agree to immediate access to the digital content (which means giving up your right of withdrawal, as the law provides). A second, unchecked "Optional" box offers to get news from the creator, along with their privacy notice.

Where: Lekty'Book page › "Buy" or "Subscribe" › "Confirm your order"
  1. Click "Buy · …" or "Subscribe · …/month".
  2. Check the required consent box.
  3. Check the creator's optional box or leave it unchecked (read "Learn more ↗").
  4. Click "Continue to payment".

Refunds and cancellation

The rule is simple: no refunds on digital content once it's been opened, but you can cancel any subscription online in three clicks, and your access stays open until the end of the period you paid for.

Where: Footer › « Refund »; footer › « Cancel my subscription »
  1. Read the « Refund » page.
  2. To stop a subscription, click « Cancel my subscription » at the bottom of the page.
  3. On the « Cancel my subscription » page, click « Cancel my subscription » next to the subscription.
  4. Confirm: « Cancellation saved » appears, and a confirmation email from Stripe follows.

Transparent AINew

The audio player shows the label « AI-generated voice », Lekty introduces itself as an AI, and the images, videos, carousels, posts, stories and voices created in the Creative Lab carry an invisible AI watermark. The AI providers we've chosen don't train their models on Lektify data.

Where: Reader › « Audio »; Creative Lab
  1. Open the « Audio » tab in the Reader.
  2. Look for the label « AI-generated voice ».
  3. In Lekty, read the AI notice at the bottom of the panel.

Moderation and appealsNew

Every Lekty'Book is checked automatically when it's published. Anyone can report content (you get an acknowledgment, then an update on what happened), and the creator can appeal a decision from a banner in the Studio.

Where: Lekty'Book page › « Report this Lekty'Book »; Studio › moderation banner
  1. To report: click « Report this Lekty'Book » and send your reason.
  2. You'll get the email « We've received your report », then « What happened with your report ».
  3. For creators: in the Studio banner or the email, click « Appeal the decision ».

What's guaranteed behind the scenesNew

Data is erased automatically when its retention period ends, videos only load with your consent, and third-party GIFs or images go through Lektify so your IP address isn't exposed. Every creator has their own privacy notice for the newsletters they send.

Where: Automatic
  1. Read the « Privacy » page for retention periods.
  2. In the Reader, a video waits until you click « Load video ».
  3. At checkout, read the creator's notice via « Learn more ↗ ».

GDPR selling point: privacy by default, with zero effort from the user.
