Create and sell your Lekty'Books
Create your Lekty'Book
From your creator account to your first chapter: everything you need to lay the foundations of a Lekty'Book. For creators who are just starting out or launching a new project.
Create my free account
One Lektify account is all you need to create, sell and read. You start on the Freemium plan, no credit card needed.
- Open the sign-up page.
- Fill in “What should we call you?”, “Email address” and “Password” (8 characters minimum), then “Confirm password”.
- If someone recommended Lektify to you, enter their “Referral code” (optional).
- Click “Create my free account”.
- Open the confirmation email (“Check your inbox” screen) and click the link to activate your account.
Sign-ups open to everyone on November 5. Until then, only Builders can sign up (“Create my Builder account” button).
Switch from Creator mode to Reader mode
One account, two roles, just like Airbnb: as a Creator you land in your Studio, as a Reader you land in “My library”. Your account menu changes depending on your role.
- In the top bar, find the “Creator” / “Reader” switch.
- Click “Creator” to open your Studio.
- Open your account menu (your photo, top right): you'll find “My sales”, “My customers”, “Payment account”, “My tokens”, “Pricing”…
Demo talking point: creators can test their own Lekty'Book as a reader, without switching accounts.
Create a Lekty'Book
You set the title, description, category and access type, then Lektify creates your Lekty'Book as a draft: nobody can see it until you publish it.
- In the Studio, open “My Lekty'Books”, then click “+ Create a Lekty'Book” (or hover over “My Lekty'Books” in the PODS bar and click “New”).
- Enter a “Title” (required) and, if you like, a “Description”.
- Pick a “Category” so people can find you on the marketplace, or keep “Choose later…”.
- Under “Access type”, choose “Free” or “Paid”. If it's paid, enter the “Price (€)” (minimum €4.99).
- Click “Create my Lekty'Book →”: it's created as a draft.
You can create unlimited Lekty'Books on every plan: Lektify earns a commission on sales, not on the number of Lekty'Books. Later, on the Lekty'Book page, “Access type” also offers “One-time purchase”, “Monthly subscription” or “Purchase + Subscription”.
Import a PDF or Word manuscriptNew
Your PDF or Word file goes in, a Lekty'Book comes out: chapters detected, clean text in the editor. Word (.docx) files keep your headings, lists, tables, links and images, for free. For a PDF, you choose quick import (free) or faithful import (AI rebuilds the pages with tables, boxes, columns or scans). The actual images from your PDF are carried over.
- In “My Lekty'Books”, click “Import a PDF” (or “Import my PDF” if you don't have any Lekty'Books yet).
- Drop your PDF or Word file into the area, or click to choose it (50 MB max).
- For a PDF, choose “Quick import” or “Faithful import”, then follow the progress (“N of N pages rebuilt”).
- Check the “Lekty'Book title” and each chapter. Uncheck the ones you want to leave out, or click “↑ Merge”.
- Tick the box confirming you own the rights, then click “Create my Lekty'Book (N chapters)”.
Have a Word version of your document? Import that instead: it keeps everything, for free. A Canva ebook with a long table of contents works too: headings on the same page are combined into a single chapter.
Images to replace after importNew
When an image couldn't be carried over during import, an “Image to replace” frame takes its place. A dedicated page lists all these frames so you can replace each one in a click.
- After the import, you land on “Images to replace” (or click “Replace them” in your Lekty'Book's banner).
- For each frame, click “Upload my image”, “Image library” or “Create with AI”.
- Or click “Remove this frame” if you no longer need the image.
- Click “I'll finish later” or “Open my Lekty'Book” when you're done.
Re-import a PDF pageNew
A page didn't come through right? The AI rereads that page exactly as it was in your original PDF and adds it where your cursor is. Your PDF is kept for 30 days after the import.
- In the editor, place your cursor where you want the page to go.
- Click “Re-import a page”.
- Enter the page number from your PDF, then click “Reread the page”.
- Check the reread content and click “Insert into my chapter”.
- Then delete the old version if needed.
Cover, title, description, language and narration voiceNew
Dress up your Lekty'Book: a cover, a title, a description, a category, the language of the text (French, English, Spanish, German or Portuguese) and the voice that will read each chapter (a catalog you can filter by voice type, plus “My voices” from your Brand Kit).
- Open your Lekty'Book from “My Lekty'Books”.
- For the cover, click “Add” (or “Change”) under the thumbnail and choose an image (JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP, 4 MB max).
- Click “Edit” next to the title: the “Edit Lekty'Book” panel opens.
- Change the title, description and category (“Category (for the marketplace)…” list).
- Choose the language you write in: only voices in that language are shown.
- Pick a voice under “Your voices”, or click “+ voices” to filter the catalog (Gender, Pitch, Tone, Age, Accent), listen, then click “Choose”.
- Click “Save”.
If you don't pick a voice, Lektify uses a narration voice in the Lekty'Book's language. Chapters that are already narrated keep their audio: regenerate them from the editor to switch voices.
Add a chapterNew
Every Lekty'Book is split into chapters. You can add them from the Lekty'Book page, or right at the bottom of the editor, without going back. The new chapter's editor opens right away.
- Open your Lekty'Book.
- Click “Add a chapter”.
- Type the title in “Chapter title…”.
- Click “Add”: the chapter editor opens.
- From the editor, scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Add a chapter”. Type the title in “New chapter title”, then click “Create and open”. Your current chapter is saved before you leave.
Reorder, rename, merge or delete chapters
You stay in control of the structure: order, titles, merging two chapters (handy after an import) and deleting.
- Open your Lekty'Book: the “Chapters” list appears.
- To change the order, use the “Move chapter up” and “Move chapter down” arrows.
- To rename, click the “Rename” pencil, type the title, then click “OK”.
- To attach a chapter to the one before it, click “↑ Merge” and confirm: its title becomes a subtitle.
- To delete, click the “Delete chapter” trash can and confirm.
You can also rename from the editor, using the “Rename chapter” pencil next to the title.
