Create and sell your Lekty'Books

The Lekty'Book editor

The workshop where every chapter comes to life: rich text, column layouts, media, interactive blocks, quizzes, audio and AI. For creators, from first draft to final version.

Write in a chapter (autosave)

You write right on the page, and everything saves on its own (up to 3 tries if the network acts up). The chapter outline and the buttons at the bottom of the page take you from one chapter to the next.

Where: Studio › My Lekty'Books › a Lekty'Book › “Edit →”
  1. From your Lekty'Book, click “Edit →” next to the chapter.
  2. Write on the page: the indicator shows “Saving…” and then “Saved”.
  3. If there's a network issue (“Not saved: check your connection”), click “Try again”.
  4. To switch chapters, open the “Chapter outline” icon in the sidebar and click a chapter under “Lekty'Book chapters”, or use “Previous chapter” / “Next chapter” at the bottom of the page.
  5. In a long chapter, the “Back to top” arrow at the bottom right takes you back to the start.

Demo talking point: there's never a “Save” button to hunt for, and you don't lose a single line.

Go to the previous or next chapterNew

At the bottom of every chapter, two buttons take you to the chapter before or after, showing its number and title. Your chapter is saved before you leave. If saving fails, you stay on the page so you don't lose anything.

Where: Chapter editor › bottom of the page
  1. Scroll all the way to the bottom of your chapter.
  2. Click “Previous chapter” or “Next chapter”: the chapter's number and title appear underneath.
  3. While you're switching, the button shows “Saving…”.
  4. In the middle, “Add a chapter” creates a new chapter and opens it.

If you see the message “Your chapter couldn't be saved, so we're staying here so you don't lose anything.”, check your connection and try again.

The badge that shows you what's in progressNew

During every upload or generation, an animated badge appears at the bottom of the screen to tell you what's happening, even when the drawer is closed. If it takes a while, it adds “Getting there, just a moment longer.”

Where: Chapter editor › bottom of the screen
  1. Start an upload or a generation: an image, a file, a photo (OCR), an AI quiz, a narration or “Tidy my page”.
  2. The badge appears at the bottom of the screen, for example “Uploading your image…”, “Uploading your file…”, “Reading your photo…”, “Preparing your quiz…”, “Preparing your narration…” or “Tidying up your page…”.
  3. Keep working: the badge disappears on its own when it's done.

Start with a chapter templateNew

14 free templates, sorted by theme (Business & expertise, Fiction & youth, Practical life, Body, mind & knowledge), build a complete chapter with quizzes, flashcards and reveals. Everything stays editable.

Where: Chapter editor › “How do you want to start?” screen or “Templates” button
  1. Open an empty chapter: the “How do you want to start?” screen appears.
  2. Click “Blank page · I'm starting from scratch”, or a template (e.g. “Business course”, “Recipes”, “Coaching workbook”, “Learn a language”).
  3. In a chapter you've already started, click “Templates” at the top, next to “Preview”.
  4. Choose “Add to the end” or “Replace content”.

Perfect for demos: a lively chapter in one click, then you customize it right in front of the person.

Format your text

Headings from level 1 to level 6, a searchable font library, pixel-precise sizing, alignment, lists, bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, superscript, links, colors, gradient text and highlighter.

Where: Chapter editor › top toolbar and selection menu
  1. In the top bar, use “Paragraph style” (headings), “Font” (with “Search for a font…”), text size and “Alignment”.
  2. “Bulleted list” and “Numbered list” create lists.
  3. Select a word or a sentence: the floating menu offers “Bold (⌘B)”, “Italic (⌘I)”, “Underline (⌘U)”, “Strikethrough”, “Link”, “Superscript”, “Subscript”.
  4. Click “Text color”: pick from the color palette, from “My brand colors” (your saved colors) or from “Gradients”.
  5. Click “Highlight” to choose the “Highlighter color” and its “Highlighter opacity”.

“My brand colors” keeps your brand colors: one click on “Save current color to my brand colors” and they follow you everywhere. The screen eyedropper works on Chrome and Edge, not on Safari or Firefox.

Insert a block

Three ways to add any block wherever your cursor is: the “Blocks” drawers, the ⌘K keyboard palette, or the “/” menu. A ghost preview shows you where the block will land.

Where: Chapter editor › “Blocks” icon in the sidebar, ⌘K, or “/” in the text
  1. Open the “Blocks” icon: blocks are sorted into groups (“Media”, “Text & teaching”, “Interactions”, “Structure”), with the search field “Search for a block… (quiz, columns, table)”.
  2. Or press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows): the “Which block do you want to create?” palette opens. Type the name, then press Enter.
  3. Or type “/” in the text: a menu offers headings, lists, quiz, image, columns, table, callout boxes…
  4. Look for the “→ will be inserted here” preview and confirm.

The sidebar can sit on the left or the right (“Move sidebar to the right”), whichever feels more comfortable.

Lay out your pages: columns, grids and tables

You build real pages: sections with 1 to 4 columns, grids with 4, 6 or 8 cells, Word-style tables with colors and resizable columns. If you're writing a novel, you can skip sections entirely.

Where: Editor › “Blocks” › “Structure” group
  1. Open “Blocks”, “Structure” group.
  2. Choose “1 column”, “2 columns”, “3 columns”, “4 columns”, or a grid (“4-cell grid”, “6-cell grid”, “8-cell grid”).
  3. For a table, click "Table", hover over the grid to pick rows × columns, then click.
  4. To change a section's layout, use the "Columns" button in the toolbar. "⬚ Dissolve section" keeps the blocks on the page.
  5. Select the table to set "Headers", "Header background" and "Header text" in the block settings.

Move, duplicate and delete blocks

You rearrange your page with the mouse: a drag handle with a snapping line, drops into empty columns, or the move up, move down, duplicate and delete buttons. The "Rail" shows the chapter's structure.

Where: Editor › handle to the left of a block, and the "Rail" icon in the sidebar
  1. Hover over a block: a "Drag to move the block" handle appears on its left.
  2. Drag it: a snapping line shows where the block will land, even inside an empty column.
  3. Or click the handle for "Move to top", "Move up", "Move down", "Move to bottom", "Duplicate this block" or "Delete this block".
  4. Open the "Rail" icon to see the chapter outline and "Drag to reorder".

Learning callouts, quotes and dividersNew

Blocks to structure knowledge: "Definition", "Key takeaway", "Warning", "Example", "Tip" or custom-title callouts; quotes in 3 styles, with your choice of quote mark color and text color; styled dividers; code block. Every block can be customized (background, gradient, opacity, color, thickness, font).

Where: Editor › "Blocks" › "Text & learning", or "/"
  1. Open "Blocks", "Text & learning" group, and click "Learning callout" or "Quote".
  2. Select the block: its settings open in "Selected block settings".
  3. For a callout, pick its type, or "Custom" for your own title (e.g. Ingredients), then the "Callout color".
  4. For a quote, pick "Vertical bar", "Quote marks" or "Box". Set the color ("Quote mark color" in the Quote marks style), the "Text color" and, for Bar or Box, the "Thickness".
  5. For a divider or code, type "/" then "Divider" (solid, dotted, dashed, double) or "Code".

Ribbons, stickers and emojis

The decorative touch that makes a Lekty'Book unique: section ribbons (banner, label, washi, bunting), recolorable Lektify stickers organized by theme, and a full emoji set with flags.

Where: Editor › "Blocks" › "Interactions" (Ribbon), "/" › "Sticker"
  1. For a ribbon, open "Blocks", "Interactions" group, and click "Ribbon" (or "/" then "Section ribbon").
  2. Pick its style, "Ribbon", "Label", "Washi" or "Bunting", and its color.
  3. For a sticker, type "/" then "Sticker", or click "Insert a Lektify sticker" in the top bar: browse "Lektify Signature", "Lektify Kawaii (colorful)", the recolorable line art or the "XXL Emojis".
  4. Resize the sticker with the ↘ handle and change its "Sticker color".
  5. For an emoji in your text, use "Insert an emoji" and its search (heart, rocket, flag…).

You won't find the "Lektify Signature" stickers anywhere else: a real selling point for creators of workbooks and children's content.

Add an image with framesNew

You can dress up an image with 5 frames (Polaroid, Tape, Rounded, Iridescent edge, Medallion), plus a shape, cropping, width, opacity and a customizable caption. Two images side by side in a column section share the same format when the shape is set to "Auto".

Where: Editor › "Blocks" › "Media" › "Image"
  1. Place your cursor where you want the image.
  2. Open "Blocks" and click "Image" (or "/" then "Image").
  3. Choose your file (JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP, 4 MB max): the "Uploading your image…" badge shows up at the bottom.
  4. Select the image to set "Frame", "Frame shape" ("Auto", "Square", "Landscape", "Portrait", "Wide"), "Width" and "Opacity".
  5. Double-click the image to crop it (zoom, position), then click "Done".
  6. Write a caption in "A caption under the image…" and set its font, size and color.

In a section with 2 or more columns, leave "Frame shape" on "Auto": your images line up in the same format, both for you and for the reader. A format you pick yourself is always kept.

Embed a video

You can embed a YouTube, Vimeo or Dailymotion video, with adjustable width and frame. Video file uploads aren't supported.

Where: Editor › "Blocks" › "Media" › "Video"
  1. Open "Blocks" and click "Video".
  2. Paste the link into "YouTube, Vimeo or Dailymotion URL…".
  3. Click "Insert video" (or press Enter).
  4. Click the video once for its settings (width, frame, caption), double-click to play it.

Link preview and downloadable file

A link card that builds itself (title, image, description), and a downloadable file (PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, CSV, text, MP3, M4A, ZIP or image, 25 MB max) available only to readers who have access to the Lekty'Book.

Where: Editor › "Blocks" › "Media"
  1. Open "Blocks", "Media" group.
  2. Click "Link preview", paste the address, then "Insert card".
  3. Or click "Downloadable file" and choose your file.
  4. Select the card to adjust the "Card title", the description and the "Accent color".

The file is protected: only people with access can download it, through a signed link.

Reveal, flashcard and before/after

Blocks that get the reader involved: hidden content to reveal, a two-sided card to flip, and an image comparison (slider, 3D card, fade or side by side).

Where: Editor › "Blocks" › "Interactions"
  1. Open "Blocks", "Interactions" group.
  2. "Reveal": write the hidden content and change the "Button label" ("Reveal ✨" by default).
  3. "Flashcard": fill in "Front: the question" and "Back: the answer", then set "Front background" and "Back background".
  4. "Before / After": add both images and pick the "Reader style" (Slider, 3D card, Fade, Side by side).

Answer field and live checklist

Your Lekty'Book becomes a workbook: the reader writes their answer or checks boxes, and Lektify remembers everything for them.

Where: Editor › "Blocks" › "Interactions"
  1. Open "Blocks", "Interactions" group.
  2. Click "Answer field": the reader writes, and their answer stays private.
  3. In its settings, set the "Answer area" to "Short", "Medium" or "Long".
  4. Or click "Live checklist": the reader checks boxes, Lektify remembers.

Coaching selling point: the reader's exercises and reflections live inside the Lekty'Book, not on a loose sheet of paper.

Create a quiz by handNew

Four question types: one correct answer, multiple correct answers, true or false, or reflection with no right answer (self-assessment, not scored). Up to 8 answers per question, as text or images, with an explanation shown after answering.

Where: Editor › "Blocks" › "Media" › "Quiz" (or "/" › "Quiz")
  1. Open « Blocks », « Media » family, and click « Quiz ».
  2. Pick the « Question type »: « One right answer », « Several right answers », « True or false » or « Reflection, no right answer ».
  3. Write your question in « Your question », then your answers. « + Add an answer » adds a choice.
  4. Mark the right answer or answers (button in front of the answer) and fill in the « Explanation ».
  5. For a picture quiz, click « Picture answers ». « Add an image to the question » is for language quizzes (« What is this? »).
  6. « Add a question » adds the next one. « Duplicate » and « Delete question » manage each question.

Each question shows « Ready » or « Incomplete », so you can't forget a right answer.

Picture quiz: upload or pick from the image libraryNew

A question can have picture answers: the reader clicks the right image. Each empty slot gives you three sources: your images, a library of royalty-free photos, or soon AI. The grid balances itself (2 images side by side, 3 images in 3 columns, 4 images in a 2 × 2 grid).

Where: Editor › a Quiz block › « Picture answers »Free: uploading and the image library cost no tokens.
  1. In a question (except « True or false »), click « Picture answers ».
  2. In an empty slot, click « Upload ». The tooltip reminds you: « Square or 4:3 image, 800 px wide is plenty. 4 MB max: Lektify shrinks it for you (about 100 KB) so your Lekty'Book stays fast. »
  3. Or click « Image library »: the « What should the image show? » search is already filled in with your answer's name. Click « Search », then the photo you want (« See more photos » shows more).
  4. « Create with AI · coming soon » isn't available yet.
  5. Under each image, write a « Short caption » and mark the right answer.
  6. Uncheck « Show captions to the reader » when the caption would give away the answer (language vocabulary, for example).

Library photos come from Pexels. They're royalty-free and you can use them even in a paid Lekty'Book. The image you pick is copied and shrunk into your Lekty'Book. To go back to written answers, click « Text answers ».

Sounds and pronunciation in a language quizNew

For learning a language: a sound on the question and under each answer, recorded with your mic, uploaded as a file, or spoken by a synthetic voice.

Where: Editor › a Quiz block › « Question sound » and « Have the words spoken »Recordings and files are free. Pronunciation: 10 tokens per 1,000 characters for the whole batch (+20% on Freemium). Words already spoken by the same voice are free.
  1. In a quiz, under « Question sound » or an answer, click « Record » (10 seconds max), then click again to stop.
  2. Or click « File » to upload an MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG or WebM (2 MB max).
  3. To have everything spoken at once, open « Have the words spoken » at the bottom of the quiz.
  4. Pick the language and voice, and check « Also speak the questions » if you want.
  5. Click « Speak for N tokens ». The price shows before you click.

Place and size a quizNew

You choose where the reader answers (in the page or in the Reader's right sidebar), the block's width and its frame, just like for an image.

Where: Editor › select a quiz › « Selected block settings »
  1. Click your quiz to select it.
  2. Open « Selected block settings » in the sidebar, or click « Block settings » at the top of the quiz.
  3. In « Where the reader answers », pick « In the page » or « In the right sidebar ».
  4. Set the « Width » and the « Frame ».

Generate a quiz with AINew

AI reads your chapter and creates a quiz. First you pick the quiz type (« Questions », « Picture quiz », « Flip cards » or « Reflection »), then its settings. You review it before inserting, and you can still edit everything.

Where: Editor › « AI tools » icon › « AI quiz »6 tokens per question, 20 minimum (5 questions = 30 tokens), +20% on Freemium. Nothing is charged if the generation fails.
  1. Write your chapter's content first: a chapter that's too short can't generate a quiz.
  2. Open the « AI tools » icon in the sidebar. The three tools show up with their prices. Click « AI quiz » to open it.
  3. In « Quiz type », pick « Questions ».
  4. Set the number of « Questions »: use the − and + buttons, the small arrow that opens a 1 to 10 grid, or type your number in the box (up to 30).
  5. In « Answers », pick « Mix », « One right answer », « Several right answers » or « True or false », then set « Explanations » to « Yes » or « No ».
  6. Click « Generate an AI quiz ». The price is shown on the button.
  7. Review the suggested quiz, then click « Insert quiz ».

The drawer remembers the last tool you opened. An animated badge at the bottom of the screen shows the generation is running, even if you close the drawer.

Generate a picture quizNew

The reader answers by clicking the right image. AI writes the questions and each image's name. Then you add the images your way.

Where: Editor › « AI tools » icon › « AI quiz » › « Picture quiz »6 tokens per question, 20 minimum, +20% on Freemium. Images you upload or take from the image library are free.
  1. Open « AI tools », then « AI quiz ».
  2. In « Quiz type », pick « Picture quiz ».
  3. Set the number of « Questions », the « Images per question » (2, 3, 4 or 6), the « Captions » (« Visible » or « Hidden ») and the « Explanations ».
  4. Click « Generate an AI quiz », review it, then click « Insert quiz ».
  5. In the inserted quiz, each empty slot offers « Upload », « Image library » or « Create with AI · coming soon ». Add an image to each answer.

Hidden captions: perfect for learning vocabulary, since the word doesn't give away the answer. The grid always stays balanced: 3 images in a row, 4 images in a 2 × 2 grid.

Generate flip cardsNew

AI pulls the key ideas from your chapter and creates two-sided cards: the reader reads the front, thinks, then flips the card.

Where: Editor › « AI tools » icon › « AI quiz » › « Flip cards »3 tokens per card, 20 minimum, +20% on Freemium.
  1. Open « AI tools », then « AI quiz ».
  2. In « Quiz type », pick « Flip cards ».

  1. Open « AI tools », then « AI quiz ».
  2. In « Quiz type », pick « Reflection ».
  3. Set the number of "Questions" and the "Focus": "Introspection" or "Taking action".
  4. Click "Generate an AI quiz", review the choices and messages, then click "Insert the quiz".

Reflection questions don't count toward the reader's score.

Tidy my page

The AI formats your draft (headings, callouts, lists, reveals) without losing a single word. Your media, quizzes and already-designed blocks stay untouched. You see a preview before applying.

Where: Editor › "AI tools" icon › "Tidy my page"5 tokens per 1,000 characters, 20 minimum (+20% on Freemium).
  1. Open the "AI tools" icon in the sidebar, then click "Tidy my page".

Take a photo of a printed page or a handwritten note: Lektify transcribes it and turns it into blocks in your chapter.

Where: Editor › "Blocks" › "Media" › "Photo (OCR)"Free, up to 30 photos a day and 150 a month.

Where: Editor › "AI tools" icon › "Audio narration"10 tokens per 1,000 characters (+20% on Freemium). Tokens are refunded if generation fails.
  1. Open the "AI tools" icon in the sidebar, then click "Audio narration".
  2. Under "Your narrator", your Brand Kit voices appear: click ▶ to listen, then click the name to choose it.
  3. For a different voice, click "+ voices": filter by tone, listen, then click "Choose". "Add to my voices" saves it in your Brand Kit.
  4. The "Narrator saved" message confirms your choice: it applies to every chapter of the Lekty'Book.
  5. Click "Generate audio": the estimated price is shown on the button. After editing the text, click "Regenerate".

Until you choose a narrator, the language's default voice reads your chapter. Audio that's already ready costs nothing.

Undo, find and replace, paste HTML

All the habits of a real word processor: full history, find and replace in the chapter, pasting HTML content at the cursor, and duplicating a block.

Where: Editor › top toolbar
  1. "Undo (⌘Z)" and "Redo (⇧⌘Z)" take you back or forward.
  2. "Find & replace" opens search: type the word, then click "Replace" or "Replace all".

Where: Editor › "Preview" (at the top, near the save indicator)
  1. In the editor, click "Preview".
  2. The chapter opens in the Reader, in a new tab.
  3. After making changes, reopen the preview to see the new version.

Select a passage and hand it to Agent Kéry, Agent Miyar or Agent Daly without leaving the editor: the passage is quoted in your question.

Where: Editor › select text › "Ask an agent"Agent Daly is free. A message to Agent Kéry or Agent Miyar first uses your free messages for the month (3 on Freemium, 100 on Creator, 300 on Business), then costs 15 tokens per message on Freemium and 10 on Creator or Business.
  1. Select a passage in your chapter.
  2. In the formatting menu, click "Ask an agent".
  3. Under "Ask…", choose Agent Kéry (your marketing), Agent Miyar (your numbers) or Agent Daly (your guide).

  2. Open the "Passage comments" icon in the sidebar.
  3. Read the reader conversations linked to that passage.

The Button block (call to action)New

Three styles: Solid, Cream or Framed (a title, a sentence and the button). With a Creator or Business plan, the button can also lead to another website.

Where: Editor › "Blocks" › "Interactions" › "Button", or type "/" then "Button" on the page

  5. On the reader's side, a button to another website shows the site's name and the message "You're leaving Lektify" before opening it in a new tab.

Links to other websites are only available on Creator and Business plans. Clicks are tracked: Lektify sees where buttons lead to keep the marketplace full of real Lekty'Books.
